On June 24, 2026, a double earthquake struck northwestern Venezuela: 6,125 dead, 17,907 homeless, and thousands of children and young people with injuries requiring urgent attention.

Chamos Foundation and FundaProcura—allies since 2018 through the pediatric wheelchair delivery program, which has already transformed the lives of 773 children—activated a joint response within days: physical and psychological rehabilitation for children and young people aged 0 to 25 with amputations, fractures, or crush injuries.

Phase 1 — Comprehensive Rehabilitation

Assists all injured children and young people who enter the program, regardless of the type of injury:

• 
  Physical therapy and occupational therapy, as needed, accompanied by a physiatrist who evaluates, decides admission, and indicates the treatment plan.

• Comprehensive psychological support for patients.

• 
  Mobility aids (wheelchairs, crutches, splints) so that patients can resume their daily lives while their recovery progresses.

We have the capacity to treat up to 24 patients per week with 4 physical therapists, 1 physiatrist, and 1 occupational therapist.

For those requiring prosthetics due to amputation, we have a plan to expand to a second phase of the program, with which we seek to offer a specialized care option.

Estimated program cost: USD 1350 per child or young person treated, 10-12 week cycle.
