Taxpayers in the UK
If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid allows HMRC to add an extra 25% to every donation you make to Fundación Chamos, at no extra cost to you. You just need to be a UK taxpayer (on income or capital gains) and confirm this with a Gift Aid declaration. If you pay the higher (40%) or additional (45%) rate of UK income tax, you can also claim the difference between your rate and the basic rate through your Self Assessment tax return, further reducing the actual cost of your donation.
For example: If you donate £100, Chamos receives £125 thanks to Gift Aid – an extra 25% at no additional cost to you. And if you are a higher-rate taxpayer, you can reclaim up to an additional £25 on your tax return, reducing the actual cost of your £100 donation to just £75.
